Present: Altenwerth (Chair), Pruitt, Ostrowski, Haas, Kettering, and two Governors who have asked not to be named. Recording: Tilley, Registrar.

1. The Chair called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. A quorum was confirmed by counting twice.
2. The name of the Academy was adopted as The Academy of unBelievable Absurdities. Dr. Pruitt asked about the capital B. The Chair said it was intentional. Dr. Pruitt asked that it be recorded as intentional. It was recorded as intentional.
3. Four criteria were adopted: Conviction, Thoroughness, Specificity and Endurance. Ms. Haas asked what would happen to a candidate who had been at it for eleven months. The Chair said months are noted but not counted. Carried.
4. Mr. Ostrowski was appointed to the Committee on Ceremonial Standards, being the only person present who had brought a paper sample.
5. The Chair proposed a Subcommittee for the Reconsideration of Previous Decisions. Dr. Pruitt observed that there were no previous decisions. The Chair said that was the best time to form it. Mr. Kettering accepted the chair on the condition that he not be required to do anything unless something went wrong. Carried.
6. Other business: Ms. Altenwerth asked that the record show the pretzels were good.

The meeting adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
