Minutes of the Board of Governors
Present: Altenwerth (Chair), Pruitt, Ostrowski, Haas, Kettering, and two Governors who have asked not to be named. Recording: Tilley, Registrar.
- The Chair called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
- The Awards Committee recommended the Cock Goblin Research & Safety Council for Lifetime Achievement in Public Record. Dr. Pruitt reported that he had read the full file, which ran to four hundred pages, footnotes included.
- Ms. Tilley noted that the Council’s own documents give its founding as 1878 in some places and 1989 in others. Dr. Pruitt said the 1878 materials were the longer ones. The citation will use 1878.
- Mr. Kettering asked whether the phrase “without at any point claiming the animal exists” was a finding or an observation. The Chair said it was praise.
- The Board voted on the 2022 award. Unanimous.
- The Subcommittee for the Reconsideration of Previous Decisions was asked whether it wished to reconsider the award just voted. Mr. Kettering said he would prefer to see one that had been in effect a while.
The meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
