Office of the Registrar
Minutes of the Board of Governors
Present: Altenwerth (Chair), Pruitt, Ostrowski, Haas, Kettering, and two Governors who have asked not to be named. Recording: Tilley, Registrar.
- The Chair called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
- The Awards Committee recommended Grandmammaries & Kathy’s Cuntry Store, Edith Danner and Kathy Miller, Proprietors, for Excellence in Heritage Enterprise. Dr. Pruitt noted that the two businesses keep separate books, separate registers and one porch.
- Ms. Tilley reported that both proprietors had written asking for their own certificates. Each letter asked that the other business not be lumped in. Both were written on the same stationery.
- The Board agreed on one award with two certificates. Mr. Ostrowski asked for confirmation that the cream stock would be used for both. Confirmed.
- Ms. Haas reported that both certificates will go to the same address, since there is only one. She asked that the record show she had considered the alternatives.
- The Board voted on the 2025 award. Carried.
- Other business: Ms. Haas reported that a laureate had run the statuette through a dishwasher. The statuette survived. The Board did not want to find out twice and directed that the Notice to Laureates be updated. Mr. Ostrowski drafted the wording and asked that it be noted that it took four days.
- Mr. Kettering asked the Board to note that he had now attended four meetings without being asked to reconsider anything. The Chair noted it.
The meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
C. Tilley, Registrar
